“10 Questions for The Dalai Lama” conveys more than history and more than answers it opens a window into the heart of an inspiring man.Also included is rare historical footage as well as footage supplied by individuals who at great personal risk, filmed with hidden cameras within Tibet.

Introduction to Dzogchen Introduction to Dzogchen
Dzogchen is a special set of teachers and practice instructions that have been handed down for over a thousand years within the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Dzogchen is considered the highest and most profound of all the Buddha’s teachings. Espedially suited for lay practitioners, no path of awakening is quicker or more complete. It is also the easiest and most effortless of practices as everything that we need to accomplish realization is already present to us. Convener has studied Buddhism with many of the great Tibetan teachers of the last 40 years.

Guest Speaker: Lama Surya Das

A nationally recognized Western Buddhist Teacher and a Dzogchen lineage holder. “Buddhism For Today,” is a speech that is geared towards the point of view of how Buddhism is timelessly relevant for all times including now.This event is a lecture and book signing.

Nelson-Atkins Buddhist Art Tour

Come join us on a special docent-led tour of the Buddhist Art. Kansas City is fortunate to have one of the best collections of Buddhist Art outside of China. The Nelson-Atkins was kind enough to put together this special tour for Buddhist Awareness Week.
